What was the most jaw dropping magic trick you ever seen? I’m pretty sure it not as jaw dropping as the tricks that Harry Houdini was doing. Houdini’s tricks were so dangerous his show are more like horror shows than magic shows.
Harry Houdini was and still is the most famous magician. Houdini took over the early 1800s and late 1900s with his illusions and tricks . Houdini died October 31, 1926 when he was 52. Although he died his tricks and illusions are still living. Once you hear Magic the first person to come to mind is Harry Houdini.
Now magic is more dumbed down since there are more regulations and rules. Most tricks in the past had only two outcome either completing the trick or dying. Hussein Hassoun is not a common 8th grader. On his spare time he loves doing magic tricks and illusions. When asked would you do any of the tricks done back in Houdini’s time he answered in quote “ I would never try something half as dangerous as some of those tricks back then”.
Hassoun also said “tricks back then were way too dangerous and most of the time hard to watch”. Hassoun also thinks that Houdini deserved his $500 thousand net worth which if $4.02 million when inflated. He was at a point getting paid more than the president.
Most magicians now look up to Houdini including Hussein Hassoun. Houdini tricks are still being performed by different magicians around the world. Now magic is way different then it was when Houdini alive. Now magic is less challenging and way less dangerous than it used to be. Houdini died because of a trick he tried.
Houdini died from a trick where he was punched in the stomach. Since that day magic will never be the same. Now magic is more worldwide and is more easily spread. Now magic shows are mostly on tv like the show The Carbonaro Effect and Celebracadabra. Penn and Teller have been headlining in Las Vegas for over 20 years. Now that the world is more populated than ever magic is more common.
