Hello everyone!
This week we are finishing up Chapter 1 from Sound and Waves
Students did a Directed Reading assignment yesterday on wave interactions. It was due at the end of the hour.
Today, students worked on vocabulary foldables that should be glued into their INB by class time tomorrow.
For the rest of the week we are going to review wave interactions ahead of a quiz on that material, and then there will be a study guide assigned so that students have plenty of materials to look at over the weekend for next week’s Chapter 1 Test ๐

All quizzes can be retaken one time for a higher score. Before the retake can take place, students must attend 1 after school study session with Mrs. Harrison. These study sessions are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays unless otherwise specified by Mrs. Harrison. The quiz can be retaken that same day after a reteach has been given to the student.
Students may look at their quizzes during these after school sessions only. I do not pass back quizzes during class.

Good morning,
8th Grade worked on a directed reading assignment during class today. I collected it at the end of the hour and some students lost points because they spent the time talking to friends instead of completing their work. Scores will be uploaded later today to Student Connect. Happy Monday! No homework ๐

Good afternoon everyone!
We had a pretty light Friday around here… just a 7 question quiz about wave frequency, speed, and wavelength. It seemed like most students got through it pretty quickly without much confusion.
Quiz makeups were handled today for absent students from Monday. All quiz scores should be posted on Student Connect this weekend… stay tuned!
By the end of the hour in both classes, every student was enjoying a little bit of free time. That must mean everyone has all of their missing work turned in. Right? ๐ We shall see…
No homework. Have a great weekend!

After our quiz on Monday we have continued talking about Properties of Waves, focused more on counting a wave’s frequency and calculating speed, wavelength and frequency using formulas. We will practice these skills leading up to Friday’s quiz. Please expect to see homework tonight that is due Thursday, 2/28. Thank you! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. ๐

Good morning,
Both 8th grade classes will have a quiz today on waves. Students have access to their notes and assignments while taking the quiz, and were given a few minutes to ensure that their notes were complete before the quiz was passed out. Happy Monday!

Hello everyone!
This week we started adding to our Interactive Notebooks! We took notes for a few days in a row on Properties of Waves. Today, students will practice labeling a transverse wave and complete a short book assignment to summarize what we learned this week. Students should review their notes as we have a quiz next week on this new material. ๐ Have a nice weekend!
** As of the end of the hour in both 3rd and 4th hours, all students present finished their assignment. No homework!
