Letter Grade Percentages & End of Year Things

At this time, all work current and past has been graded and the Gradebook is up to date. (If you submitted something within the 30 seconds it took me to open up my iBlog, that would be the only thing not graded yet!)

I currently have the gradebook set so that all assignments are marked as graded even if they aren’t due yet. I know that some of you are still working on the assignments due tomorrow night plus the assignment I just assigned. That is totally fine!

At this moment in time, regardless of any due dates, all quarter 4 work is due June 8th. This includes current work and late work. Refer to my previous post where there is a full list of the graded assignments.

What you should do next aside from turning in any items you have completed already is log on to Student Connect and look at your percentage grade. IGNORE the letter grades because they are not accurate right now.

Look at your percentage grade to determine what letter grade you would get right now with the items already graded. At this time, the only way this letter grade can change is if you are turning in something, in which case the grade can only go up.

If your percentage is less than 60% you are at risk of not receiving credit for the semester, in which case you may be asked to redo it over the summer. You should really focus on getting as much missing work turned in during this last week of open grading as you can so that you can get above that mark!

For the week of June 1 – 7 there are no new assignments. I will be posting a form in case any students need to sign up for a one on one Google Meet with me to help get them caught up and get any questions answered. I will also be available by e-mail or private comment the entire week to help you get where you need to be. We’re in the home stretch now, people!

Next week on June 5th we have scheduled a specific time frame for you to come by the building to pick up anything that was left in your locker and to drop off school books, library books, or uniforms. We have a strict procedure to keep everyone safe.

First of all, you MUST come during your specific time and it is based on your ADVISORY teacher.

If your advisory teacher is Apple, Alhassan, Donelson, Hamze, Harrison (Me!), Hojeij, Houssaiky, Fayad, Rizk, Formosa, or Arifi you may come by between 12 and 1:30pm.

If your advisory teacher is Johnson, Kelly, McIngvale, Pfiel, Brown/Robar, Saleh, Turfe, Antonazzo, Kinnaird, or Ozeir you may come by between 1:30 and 3pm.

Procedure:

  • Your parent must be in the car with an ID or Driver’s License.
  • Turn on Hubbard from Ternes street so that the car is facing towards Greenfield. Most likely cars will be lined up along the curb.
  • Stay in the vehicle at all times.
  • Have a sign ready to show staff what student items are being picked up. It should be visible from outside of the car.
  • A staff member (most likely your A2 teacher) will grab the bag of items collected from your locker and bring them to the car.

If you had stuff in a friend’s locker, those items will be in a bag labeled for your friend and their parent must pick it up. We will not be able to get things from another locker for you, only the locker you were assigned to.

you got it boss

I think that’s all for now. We’re all just trying to keep up and live safe! I will update you with anything else and I will probably post at least 2 more times about locker pick up before Friday! I can’t wait to wave at some of you from a safe social distance 🙂
