Bellwork reviewed graphing polynomials, writing their equations from a graph, and finding extrema and zeros using the graphing calculator.

The remainder of the period we began discussing Sec 6-3, Polynomial Division.

Hwk #20 is due today

This blog entry was accidentally place in my Algebra 1 Blog:

Bellwork reviewed Area, Special Right Triangles, and Trigonometry.

The remainder of the period students explored the shapes of the zeros of a polynomial function.

Students were able to sketch the graph of a polynomial in factored form by using the shapes of the zeros.

Students were also able to take the graph of a polynomial and write its equation in factored form.

Hwk #19 is due on Monday.

Bellwork reviewed how to sketch the graph of a polynomial and how to write the equation given the graph.

The remainder of the period we discussed sec 6-1 and 6-2.

Students were given the homework assignments for Chapter 6.

Hwk #20 will be due on Thursday.

Bellwork reviewed finding surface area of a cylinder and a pyramid.

The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 5-7.

Hwk #18 is due tomorrow.

We also began looking ahead to Chapter 6 by discussing how the equation of a quadratic could be determined given the x-intercepts of the graph or zeros of the function.
