FAITH RINGGOLD!  After listening to the book Tar Beach in art class, students drew and wrote in their sketchbooks about what they would like to own by simply flying over it.  Students drew themselves flying over what they wished for.  They collaged squares of wallpaper scraps around their drawings to resemble a quilt like Ringgold’s story quilts.
