Reminders & This Week’s Activities

Reminders

I’m going to start off with a few reminders since so much is going on.

Reminder #1: The deadline for students to nominate their favorite Dearborn Public Schools teacher for the 2020 Alberta Muirhead Teacher of the Year Students’ Choice Award is rapidly approaching on Monday, March 9th, 2020 at 5:00 PM. Reminder #2: There will be NO SCHOOL for GSRP students on Thursday March 12th and Thursday March 19th. This is due to parent-teacher conferences taking place for all of the GSRP students during this time. Conference reminders will be sent home next week.

Reminder #3: Our field trip to the Outdoor Adventure Center has been rescheduled for Wednesday April 1st. (More details to come later)

This Week’s Activities

We have been working on making patterns! Many students are doing a simple pattern on their own, while a few others are beginning to do more complex patterns using three or more colors.
We added water and paintbrushes to our chalk boards as we worked on fine motor control, writing skills and science all at the same time! We quickly discovered when the chalk gets wet, it writes smoother and darker on the chalkboards.
We used geostix to create different shapes as well as letters. We are starting to learn about what properties make a shape the shape that it is.
