Monday June 1, 2020
Parents:
Good morning families!
Holy moly! Can you believe today is the first day of June!? This has somehow been the shortest and longest school year I have ever experienced in my 15 years of teaching! Normally, this is the time of the year when I am doing countdowns to the end with your children… when they are helping to wash the materials in the classroom… where we are having field day “preschool style” and enjoying our last week of school together. There are always feelings of pure joy, excitement and even a touch of sadness when we say goodbye on the last day. This year however, I don’t know there are words that can even begin to describe my feelings…. or your children’s feelings. It’s definitely all very surreal!
REMINDER! PLEASE remember to drive to Whitmore-Bolles TOMORROW, Tuesday June 2, 2020 sometime between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM to pick up your child’s belongings that were left at school when schools were closed due to Covid-19.
We have 5 letters left in our alphabet we did not get to learn this year. In order to ensure we at least touch on them and all of your children have had exposure to them, I will be introducing one of those 5 letters every day this week plus the last one on Monday June 8th.
My last update to parents today: We will be having a VIRTUAL parent meeting regarding your children’s transition to kindergarten this week on Thursday June 4th at 2:00 PM. I will send out details on how we will be meeting later this week. Please make sure to save that date/time and keep it open though.
Kids:
Good morning!!
Language, Literacy & Communication”
Today we are going to learn about the letter Vv.
After watching the video, I challenge you to find at least ONE thing in your house that begins with the /V/ sound! I know this one will be tricky, but give it a try. When you find something, have your grown up take a picture of you with it and send it to me on Remind.
Math:
Today I want you to write the letter Vv as many times as you can. When you’re finished writing it, count how many letter V’s you made and write the number. Have your grown up take a picture and send it to me on Remind.
Friends!
