Good morning families!
For Parents:
Some quick updates for all of you:
- I am going in to school this week. I will be getting my assessment information on all of your children from February and March. Since we were not able to hold any of our parent-teacher conferences, once I have this information I will be setting up phone call parent-teacher conferences with each of you to go over everything.
- I will also be gathering supplies and materials to help your child continue learning at home. Once I have everything organized, I will let you know when I will be coming to your house to do a porch drop off of the materials. Please be aware: as badly as I WANT to see and hug all of your children, we have to maintain social distancing recommendations/guidelines. So please stay inside your house and keep your children inside your house as well. We can do waving from the windows though! <3
- Please watch this video I made for all of the parents with some ideas and updates as well.
For Kids:
Good morning boys and girls!
Language, Literacy & Communication:
Today we are going to continue to learn about our letter of the week: Letter S s. Please watch this video.
Take a walk around your house or your yard and see what items you can find that have a S sound at the beginning. Take a picture of what you find and send it to Mrs. Laurus on Remind.
I also have a story for you. This is a story that we have already read at school before, but you guys always ask me to read it again. Now that I have recorded it, you can watch/listen to this story as many times as you want!
Math:
Yesterday I wanted all of you to get on to http://www.happynumbers.com. There are a few of you who were able to get in to your accounts. I would LOVE to see more of these accounts get set up today, if possible.
If your grown up is having trouble setting it up, tell them to call Mrs. Laurus and I’ll help!
In the meantime, continue to practice on this website for just a few minutes. Also, I want to see how high you can count! Have your grown up take a video of you counting as high as you can and send it to me.
Science/Movement:
It’s supposed to be another nice day outside today. We are going to see what kind of animals we can find! Go for a walk around your yard, around the block, or through the neighborhood where you live with your grown up. While you’re on your walk, look for animals. When you find some, try to take a quick picture of it and send it to Mrs. Laurus. You might see squirrels, chipmunks, birds, insects, cats, dogs, and so on.
If you can’t take a walk today, then take a picture of your own pet. If you don’t have a pet, you can take a picture of a stuffed animal and send it.
Be prepared, because tomorrow we are going on a Bear Hunt!
In case you are missing your friends, here are some pictures of all of the AMAZING learning that has been going on at your houses!
