4th Week of School

Picture Day is tomorrow… dress sharp.

NWEA Science testing is this week Tuesday & Wednesday.

There is a late start this Wednesday.

I will also have all my grades updated by Friday; since I was away for the weekend in Chicago for my wife’s 40th birthday I wasn’t able to do that.  Thank you for your patience.

Here is the link for Kahoot! https://play.kahoot.it/#/k/7a212b7c-e05c-499b-98a4-1a82ea926ffd on Geography Inquiry… that 15 point iLearn quiz is next Wednesday.  I personally would study off the Power Point “What is Geography Inquiry?”

I got almost all the grades updated Thursday night… the only assignments I did not grade was the Constitution WKS that was due today and the World Map.

3rd Week of School

We had our first science iLearn quiz today on The Scientific Method and I think students did overall pretty well.  However, if any student would like to retake the quiz they have that option before school (7:30 AM) or after school this Wednesday (3:05 PM).  I will post grades after Wednesdays retakes.  Here is another resource to help with the Scientific Method.

The Scientific Method 2

Bryant Middle School Open House is this Wednesday at 6:00 PM.

There is a half-day this Friday.  I also will not be at school… I expects students to be on their best behavior.

The Science portion NWEA testing is next week.

Here is the rather short Power Point on Geography Inquiry that we are discussing in Geography this week and the other one one I used.

2nd Week of School

It is the second week of school and most of the expectations, polices and procedures have been communicated in great details to the students.

Also, we have been starting the NWEA testing… my science is scheduled for the week of the 17th.

I am having my first science quiz on the Scientific Method next Monday.  Here is the power point to assist with studying, but student’s Interactive Notebook is another source.

1st Week of School

Today was the first day of school… Yeah!  It was so nice to meet all the new 6th graders today.  I am very excited for the new year.

Planners are being passed out tomorrow in advisory if you need a replacement planner throughout year the cost is $5.00.

There is NO SCHOOL Friday August 31 or Monday September 3 because of the Labor Day Weekend.

Open House is September 12th at 6:00 PM.

Picture Day is September 18th.

Welcome Back!

The first day of school is only one week away… wow!, times flies.  I hope everyone had a fantastic and restful summer and we are all ready for a new exciting school year again.  I will be in the same classroom (room #13) and will be teaching both 6th grade science and geography again.  I have included my syllabus for anyone that wants to get a head start on anything.  Please note that in the syllabus along with a supply list, my expectations and polices I am also asking for each student to bring in one box of Kleenex and one roll of paper towels.  I truly appreciate it; it really helps.  I can’t wait to meet all of my new students and I know that 2018-2019 will be an awesome school year here at Bryant! 🙂

Syllabus

Last Week of School!!

Hello!
Please remind students that they need to bring any items to Levagood tomorrow that they would like to use (bathing suits, towels, basketball, baseball mitt, bat, volleyball, board game, cards, etc).
Also, they should NOT bring cell phones. Phones may be kept in lockers at school. Teachers are not responsible for student items!
Lockers are available, but students need a dollar in quarters to use them.

Please also remind kids to wear sunscreen and bring a bagged lunch, water, etc. the concession stand will be open. It’s going to be a great pool day!

Thank you… & Thursday is a half-day and our last day.

36th Week of School

We are learning about genetics in science and will do so for the remaining of the year.

Our Latin America, Africa or South America country project presentations are due this Friday, this is the last assignment in geography.  See below.

GEOGRAPHY PROJECT

Students and parents please keep up on checking student connect and making sure everything is updated and recorded; after June 13th, I can not help you.  I have said before some credit is better than no credit.

7.5 days left before summer vacation! 🙂

35 Week of School Continued…

There is only 2 weeks and 2 days left of school… yeah!, Summer here we come!!

We have a geography iLearn test this Friday (46 points)… and the study guide is due tomorrow.  So here is the deal, Fridays test will be an open note assessment this means students can use the following: their completed study guide, their notebook, the text book and/or a printed off power point.  Students can NOT use an incomplete study guide, pull the power point off from the blog during the test, the Kahoot!, or any answer key or study guide that was produced by another teacher.

We are going to review tomorrow and go over the study guide, therefore even though it is due tomorrow there should be no reason why any student shouldn’t have all the right answers.  This will probably be our last test in geography as we are starting genetics Monday.

I will be working on grading the C.E.R.’s this weekend.

35 Week of School

It was super muggy and humid today in school and I know that students had a hard time, but we can only do what we can do and carry on.

NWEA Science testing started today and will hopefully finish tomorrow.

The CER was due today.

The study guide on Chapter 14 in geography class in due Thursday and the test will be Friday.  Here is the link for the Kahoot!
