Innaccurate Campaign Promises

Over the years of Donald Trump’s presidency, he has made plenty of promises, started many arguments with many people, and has had many disagreements with the stuff he “promises”. Trump has made many campaign promises that he hasn’t fulfilled. His most famous being that the Mexicans will pay for the wall. Mostly why people voted for him is because of those promises, so the question is will they be done or is it just a hoax?

Many of Trump’s promises were controversial and helped his campaign gain extensive coverage by the mainstream media, trending topics, and social media. Trump’s campaign rallies attracted large crowds, as well as public controversy. Some of his rallies had incidents of violence between Trump supporters and protesters, and mistreatment of some journalists (That Trump was accused of inciting violence towards them at his rallies).

All of these incidents and other bad things he does has led many celebrities to disagree with trump and dislike his decisions and lies, like John Legend, for example, a famous American singer. According to him, “I think Trump is an embarrassment to the country. And his approval rating is terrible…When he is criticizing something, he is usually projecting. So, he calls people liars because he is a liar. He talks about the entertainment business because he rose through the entertainment business. He talks about people being corrupt because he is corrupt. He talks about people being violent because he encourages violence. So, he’s usually projecting when he criticizes someone.”, told to The Guardian, in September of 2017.

Even though Trump has done some of his campaigns promises most of them are either in the works or have been stopped completely. For example, his most famous campaign promise which was, according to Donald Trump himself, “Build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great great wall on our southern border and I’ll have Mexico pay for that wall.” Well, it seems like that was a fail considering he still hasn’t built the wall on the border as well as Mexico isn’t paying for it.

In fact, when he asked Congress for a ridiculous amount of money to pay for the wall and they denied it and reasoned it to a considerable amount, but he then started a record-breaking government shutdown that left government workers without pay for 35 days.  He also promised to repeal Obamacare which obviously can’t happen since the House of Representatives is run by Democrats.

In conclusion, as you can see President Trump has lied about many of his campaign promises which for most of them, that’s a good thing. Even though they could still be done in the future there are still many other things our president has said, lied about or made immature comments on to which led so many people to dislike him and his ideas.
