Thanksgiving Touchdown

On the evening before Thanksgiving, two Chicago Bears football players, Dion Sims, and Allen Robinson, did a rather generous action when they hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the fellows in New Pal HQ in Detroit, Michigan. The New Pal is short for The Detroit Police Athletic League. They help a lot of people in need just like they help with the Thanksgiving dinner.

“It was truly heartwarming when I heard about the news.” commented April Kincaid , a fellow Detroit native. “It feels great, to get out of the house, get to talking, that’s what I think Thanksgiving is about,” said Payton Allen, an individual at Good Pal. It is important to give back to everything people have done for you.

The Detroit police department, Dion, Allen, and their mothers prepared a homemade Thanksgiving meal. All went well, and the people were very grateful. “It’s very important to give back,”  responded the mother of NFL player, Dion Sims.

The Detroit Police department were really kind to help cook the dinner. When it comes to robberies, fires, medical issues, injuries, and much more give great thanks to the Detroit Police.  Just like Dion & Allen, you can volunteer at the New PAL and help the citizens of Detroit.

Even players from other teams thought this was a very considerate thing to do.  For example, Ron Rice, a former member of the Detroit Lions football team, stated, “I’m a little uneasy with the Thanksgiving game tomorrow but for Allen Robinson and Dion Sims to give back shows you what they mean to the community.”

Growing up in Detroit they knew that, “They have to give back to the community they grew up in.”, Tina explained. Being two men with two big hearts, these individuals used their success to help the people of their community in a large way.
