Have you ever been to the Brooklyn Bridge? The Brooklyn Bridge is located in New York. It was built on January 3,1870 and it was opened on May 24,1883 By the early 20th Century, scientists figured out that if the airlocks traveled to the river’s surface more gradually, slowing the workers decompression, the bends could be prevented altogether. The Brooklyn Bridge was built with people’s own bare hands! They worked 24 hours a day. They’re jobs were to dig up mud and get bedrock. When the workers were working on the Manhattan side, the workers were getting sick. They had caisson disease and they decided that they had to stop. The total length of the Brooklyn Bridge is 5,989 and the total width is 85 feet. The estimated total cost of everything including materials, was at least 15 million dollars and it took 14 years to build. The men who worked on the bridge were extremely brave because they were risking their lives while building it.
Mohamad Dabaja, student at Unis Middle School, said that he has been to the brooklyn bridge before. He said it is a very nice bridge but there is a lot of problems. For example, they still have a lot of construction to do like the roads and the railings are wrinkly.
