Addiction to Phones

People today are insanely addicted to their phones. People these days don’t even notice that they are addicted to their  phones. You’re probably on your phone right now while reading this article. 40% of the population are addicted to their phones, that’s almost half of our population. I used to be an A+ student now my grade is plummeting just because of my addictions, not any more. Addictions to phones are ruining our society. We need to stop now.IMG_7511

kids all ages are addicted to their phones. Kids, parents, and teachers are addicted to phones. Society is falling apart, this is what Mr.Chris one of our 6th grade math teacher had to say about it, “It is terrible, people these days are doing every thing with there phone.” There is so much to see in the world, but people would rather just be on their phones all day. A student in Unis Middle school named Hadi Hassan stated,”There is so much in the world to see, than being on your phone.”

IMG_7510All people that are addicted to their phones do show shrinking of brain matter. People with the addiction find it harder to retrieve information from the brain. For example when you study for a test for the next day and you finish studying and you go on your phone the rest of the day the next day you would get a lower grade than if you didn’t go on your phone for the rest of the day.

FullSizeRender (1)If 40% percent of people are addicted to phones what do they do on it?I didn’t know so I asked Mohamad Beydoun and he said,”Social media!” Like Facebook,Instagram ,Snapchat,Kik. Then that can lead to bullying. Then to depression, suicide, and damaging themselves etc.Do you finally see that being addicted to your phone causes a lot of problems? We need to stop being addicted to our phones.

  1. I think a lot of people are addicted to their phones and I see how it affects their grades. I see people going on their phones while teachers are teaching, and when a test comes along they don’t know anything which gives them a bad grade. Phones also take away from studying and doing your homework. I never let my phone get in the way of my education and my grades. I thinks it helps to not have your phone on you all the time which takes away the temptation of going on it. I thought this topic was very interesting and it made me realize that phones do inflict on peoples education.

  2. Phone addictions have gotten really serious. An A student has been getting very bad grades and I agree 100% that is is from technology. There is so much more to see in the world other than screens. The struggle is real once they are addicted to their phones they may never like anything other than their phones. Phones are the problem in most people’s life. I have always wanted a phone but I am very lucky that I don’t have one. I believe people are not successful in life mostly because of their phones. I believe there should be a rule that kids under 16 are not allowed to have phones. This a very good reason to talk about because the whole world is involved. I really like the way you showed us some pictures to help us see how the world is turning

  3. I think phone addictions have gotten more serious than it was in 2015. Its all about social media you can know do anything on your phone. I’m even a phone addict because 63% of my battery percentage is wasted only on social media. When I say I’m going to study i really do then someone texts me and then i get distracted so I’m on it when I should be studying. I’m being completely honest my grades have dropped because of my phone addiction. Phones really mess up kids know of days like literally 1st graders have phones right now and social media.

  4. Phones are really addicting to everyone especially teenagers having to do with Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , etc. wouldn’t you like to know what the other girl is wearing for school tomorrow on snapchat? or wouldn’t you like to know how many likes your recent post on Instagram got? in 2017 its all about that. It’s all public where anything can happen anything as in like for example bullying.
