
Oh boy, chocolate! Mmmm, even the sound of it puts you in a better mood. Thats truer than you think. Chocolate is said to be a “comfort food”, a food that can help you feel better in no time.
According to The Dearborn Patch, chocolate alongside asparagus, calcium, walnuts, and one of my favorites, salmon, are great foods to get you out of your winter doldrums. Some of those dark, leafy greens, spinach for example, contain magnesium, which is probably the most important nutrient for your heart. It helps the heart muscle function better, protects blood vessels, and can prevent heart attacks and strokes.
Wow, just to think that something loved by pretty much everyone is needed by them too. Of course if you don’t overdue it. Then that becomes another problem.
Speaking of overdoing it, obesity is a problem that comes from these so called “comfort foods”. Sure, chocolate may be good and does help. But too much isn’t. People can get addicted to almost anything easily.
Addiction has even ran in my family. My cousin was once addicted to Pepsi. It was bad, she could drink a 2-liter bottle of Pepsi in a day. So comfort foods are a good thing, but then could be a bad thing too. It just depends on how you use them.
What would the world be like without chocolate, though?

Wow! I did not even know that chocolate is good for you. You were right about have too much causes obesity but i did not know that one piece causes your heart muscles to function better. Me, my sister, and my cousin have an addiction for chocolate too so you are right about people being able to having this kind of addiction. I liked your enthusiasm and you wordings. I really enjoyed your story and hope you can make more just like that one.
Choclate is a good comfort food who doesn’t love it
When I saw the title of this story I was immediately pulled to it. “For the love of food”, it actually relates to me in every way possible. What you said about how people can get addicted to almost anything easily is so true. Crazy enough, I’m addicted to chocolate. Even crazier, Hershey’s chocolate. I’m not crazy, like 2 – liter crazy, but I do eat it a lot. This story made me realize that too much of something is not good.
I liked reading this story because a lot of kids can relate to it. Even me. And kids need to be informed that too much chocolate can cause obesity.
This is a really good story. Everyone likes chocolate, but you shouldn’t eat a lot of it. It’s hard to believe that chocolate can be good for you in the winter of all seasons. That’s one of the reasons why America was marked as one of the most obese countries in the world because of people’s poor choices in food. You are correct on how people can be addicted to anything. Great story and I really enjoyed it about food. Keep these great stories coming. 🙂
This is really good, I like how you added in the text the many good foods not just chocolate, and how they are good for you and your health. It is true, my comfort food is always chocolate but just the right amount when I need it. Good job.
I totally agree with your story, Fatmeh. Sure comfort food can help but it doesn’t really help with your health most of the time. Just like your cousin I was once addicted to pepsi. I used to drink as many cups as I could a day! But now I don’t drink pepsi at all, even though it’s one of my favorite drinks, it’s not so good for my health. Which got me thinking while I read this, do we really need comfort food, or can we find another go to for comfort?
chocolate is one of my favorite junk food, but to much of isn’t good it could lead to people being over weight and people getting diabetes.
Well thats new! I never knew that chocolate had nutrients in it. But if u eat a lot than its going to be bad for your teeth and for your stomach, but at least eat a little bit, and by the way your story is really good and i liked it a lot and it explains so much about chocolate. Hersheys is also one of my favorite junk food and its really good.
