GRADE 1 Playing the Name Game

image

Students in grade 1 build their rhythmic and cognitive skills as they play the name game.  This game improves focus, rhythm, teamwork and quick thinking!  Students take turns calling out the name of another student to a steady beat.  The object of the game is to fit the syllables of each name into two beats and do it in a steady tempo while the group maintains a steady beat by patting their knees.  Be ready because your name could be called next!  The students love this game!
