Updated I can statement for Chapter 2 Test
- Chapter 2 test will be on Tuesday 11/20
- It will be NO CALCULATOR
- You will be given the whole hour
Here are the I can statements:
- I can graph a polynomial functions from factored form using the x intercepts and its end behavior Zeros and their multiplicity Desmos activity
- I can graph a polynomial function from its standard form given a factor (after I factor it using synthetic division) Khan academy assigned task
- I can describe and write the end behavior of a polynomial function p193#25-28
- I can find the vertex of a quadratic function from a vertex form (h,k) or from standard for (h=-b/2a) then write it in vertex form p169#27-32
- I can find the Zeros of a polynomial functions including cubic and quartic if given a factor (synthetic division then x method
- I can find the Zeros of a polynomial functions including cubic and quartic WITHOUT given a factor (Rational Zero theorem then x method) p206#50-54
- I can find the multiplicity of the zeros of the polynomial function and identify the behavior if the function at those zeros (graph bounces even multiplicity or goes through the x intercept odd multiplicity ) p193#39-42
- I can find the equation of a linear function (line) given 2 points in function notation (page 169 #7 through 12)
- I can write the equation of a parabola given its graph and one point or given the vertex and one point (p169# 39-44)
- I can find the axis of symmetry of parabola, vertex and y intercept from its graph and from its equation
- I can graph a rational function without using a calculator after finding its VA, HA, x int and y int Sample problems 1, 2 section 2.6 guided notes, also p226#31-36
Today’s Class: Friday 11/16
- Students will be working on a Desmos activity: graphs of rational function
- The objective of this activity is to develop an academic vocabulary related to the content of our objective which is graphing rational functions
- click here to start and enter the class code if your hour
- The computer will pair you up with a classmate.
- One of you will choose a graph, the other student has to ask questions to try to guess the graph that was picked.
- The questions should include content related academic vocabulary such as: vertical asymptotes, horizontal asymptotes,x intercept, y intercept…
- Desmos codes
Today’s Class: Thursday 11/15
Today’s Class: Wednesday 11/14
Tuesday 11/13
Homework Due Monday 11/12
- Synthetic division is an objective that you did in Algebra 2. On Monday, we are going to have a flipped classroom where students are going to be chosen randomly so they can explain the concept to their classmate.
- The following guided notes and their key should help you remember the objective. Copy them in your notes section. Title it Section 2.4 : Real Zeros of Polynomial Functions
- Complete homework problems p205#1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10,12 (synthetic division)
- p205# 4, 11 optional, long division is EXTRA CREDIT on the chapter test
- I am attaching the key to all those problems (it is not an accident), the purpose is to do them on your own, then correct them using colored pen so you can learn through feedback and teach us on Monday!
- 2.4 Synthetic divison notes
- 2.4 Synthetic divison notes key
- Homework key
Today’s Class: Friday 11/9
- Bellwork SAT word problem, linear function. Bell work Fri 11-9
- Homework feedback 2.3 homework feedback p193#25-28
- Students completed a graded exit ticket assignment writing problem
