Today we continued identifying title, author, and illustrators of books. We also discussed our favorite characters in a story and gave reasons why. We discussed what scientists do and how we will be scientists in our classroom. We worked with two-sided chips to make different combinations of 6 (5+1, 4+2, 3+3, 6+0). We also worked on our writing skills by drawing with detail and labels, using lines and writing complete sentences with spaces, punctuation, capitals, and lowercase letters.

  • Read for 20 minutes, fill out your R.E.D. Folder

Tuesday September 6, 2022

Today we read a story about crayons. All of the crayons were special and unique and worked well when they were together, just like our class! We wrote to tell how we are unique and colored a crayon that will go on a bulletin board by our classroom. We also read a book called “What if Everybody Did That?” and wrote about positive and negative choices and how it it would affect the world around us if everybody made each choice. We continued working on reading and writing strategies as well as number bonds.

Thursday September 1, 2022

Today we continued talking about manners. We came up with our classroom rules. We continued working on number bonds in math. We also enjoyed two specials! Art and Music. We practiced reading to self and working on writing during choice time. Students modeled how to properly choose a quiet spot and work until the timer is up and then returning to the carpet.

Please complete pages 9 & 10 (math worksheet) and return to school on Tuesday.
