Mini Martian 2016

The Mini Martians completed their final 1.2 miles on Saturday to complete their marathon. The weather wasn’t the greatest but all students participating seemed to have a great experience and I am sure will return next year to run for DuVall. Thanks to all of the parents that helped out before and during the event.

Mini Martians will take a team photo this Thursday wearing the red jersey and medal. They will also pick up an inflatable martian after the picture.

Mini-Martian Event

I am sending home a parent letter with all the important information for this week. I am going to pick up a group box with our team’s shirts and race bibs on Thursday and pass out on Friday during the school day. We are in the blue wave that begins at noon but everyone should arrive about 30 minutes before the run. It is going to be cold so dress warm and you make take off at end of race to get to the warmth of your car. I will take a team picture next Thursday with the kids wearing their free shirt and medal.

****Don’t forget to fill out emergency information on the race bib in case of any unforseen  problems on Saturday.

Mini Martian Update

We are now close to 60 runners for this years event. Just last night Mr. Malone hosted our first practice. The second practice for all registered runners with permission slips on file will take place next Thursday the 24th. After creating the practice schedule I realized that this date is the night before our vacation begins. If your child is unable to attend I understand but make sure they are logging laps on their own time. This event is closer than it seems with a vacation coming soon so it is imperative to train to be at a fitness level to make run day enjoyable.

If your child is registered but has not turned in a permission slip there are some extras in the office.

Mini Martian Update 3/9

We are up to over 50 runners signed up to take part in this years Mini Martian Marathon. As of today we have had only 15 runners turn in their permission slip to participate in next weeks first practice with Mr./Mrs. Malone on Tuesday at 3:45-4:30. No student will be allowed to participate/attend the practices without a permission slip turned in to the coaches.

If your child is signed up they should be walking/jogging at home to reach the 25 mile goal before Saturday April 9th.

Mini- Martian Update

We are now up to 47 runners as of Tuesday March 1st. A parent letter/permission slip is being sent home on Thursday March 3rd. In order to attend practice it must be returned by the first practice on Tuesday March 15th with the Malone’s. Any questions call me at DuVall or leave message with the office. Bryan Tapp

Mini-Martian Update

To all interested students. To receive a discounted group rate you must be registered by midnight on Thursday the 25th. After Thursday the price goes up by a few dollars. On Thursday March 3rd all registered students will have an in school meeting to receive a practice letter/permission slip that must be returned by the first practice to attend. All students must be picked up in order to attend any of the practices. The practices will go from 3:45-4:30. The dates for the practices will be on the permission slip and we can use any interested parent as a spotter or runner on the practice days.

Mini-Martian Marathon

Update:

We only have 7 students signed up for the Mini-Martian Marathon. The final date to register with a discount is February 24th. For all of those that due register a log book and tattoo are waiting for you with Mr.Tapp. After the 24th a practice schedule will be sent home with practice and jersey information.

Billy and Chloe Shaw’s mom has informed me that the Dearborn Recreation center is a great place for families to train and complete the miles needed until the weather changes.

Just 15 days to get registered at a discount.
