The Dearborn Public Schools have set some requirements for all staff, students, and parents for on-line learning. During this time that all of us are at home trying to take care of ourselves both physically and mentally, the Dearborn Public Schools are providing opportunities for continued learning at home. To help us physically I have posted numerous links and videos to help guide and motivate our students (families) to have some fun and keep physically active. It is a proven fact that movement is good for all of us to limit stress, anxiety, improved focus, and overall fitness.
I have posted the following link https://youtu.be/CKUC8fcoB_A to introduce myself to any parent uncertain of who I am(Read through my About page to learn more if interested). Please remember going forward that I am a novice when it comes to creating videos so bare with me. I will be creating one new video each week that will contain a little bit of me (probably my puppy Wilson and my youngest daughter Kealani), a video clip with a movement activity, and a survey that has to be completed to receive participation credit. The survey is short but must be completed and submitted in order for me to give credit. The same video will be posted again on Thursday with a new survey. Please complete and submit again to get credit for two a weeK.
There are 8 weeks remaining which allows 16 opportunities to receive participation credit. I would like for all my students to complete at least 11 surveys to receive the top score. Even though I am providing two survey opportunities a week, I recommend trying to make physical activity part of your daily routine. If you would like to monitor all of your activities, use the fitness log chart and simply record what you are doing and when you are doing it.

I tried to make this as simple as possible to put the focus on educational materials and having fun moving at least twice a week. Please visit the Dearborn Physical Education blog for daily fitness and nutrition ideas https://iblog.dearbornschools.org/elementaryphysicaleducation/. Any questions please email me at tappb@dearbornschools.org. Mr.Tapp
I check my email often but have designated 10-12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays to be watching email to answer any questions. Please email me at tappb@dearbornschools.org and I will try my best to respond within 24 hours Monday through Friday.
Inside my pages in the header above, or directly below, you will find a page for Physical Education Assignments. Please open that page and click on the file to see a fitness chart. You can go at your own pace on the chart but you must complete the two Physical Education Lessons I post on Tuesdays and Thursdays and fill in the surveys by Friday of that week to receive participation credit. The chart is due by Memorial Day weekend(May 22nd). Take a photo and email it to me at tappb@dearbornschools.org.
The Dearborn Physical Education blog will provide daily physical activity and nutrition ideas for our families in the Dearborn Public Schools. As a staff, we will be providing new ideas, information, and activities to keep us all healthy. I will post this link once a week to my blog but please subscribe to both my blog Tapp’s Turf and the link below. I hope everyone is doing well and reminding you to stay active. Stay safe, Mr Tapp.
