March 19th – Daily Lessons
Well everyone it is Wednesday. We are half way through our first week. I would like all my students to try to subscribe to my blog with either their personal email or their school email. This way you will get alerts and it seems some of the links work better if you get to my blog through an email. We are learning things as we go so be patient – we will get this – it will be ok.
I am a little worried about a couple students who are not completing the work. It is ok if you are sick or your parent needs the computer for you to have to wait a little to do your work – but remember if you fall way behind you are only hurting yourself because everyone else is getting super smarter. Remember what you do now will make next year either easier or harder (harder is way way worst…who wants to struggle in middle school??)
MATH:
Here is the next fun filled video made just for you (just kidding thousands of kids are watching it today)-
Check your Zearn – some of you emailed me to let me know it skipped a lesson. By the end of today you need to see “lesson 5” on your screen. If you want to go one lesson ahead then feel free.
Read and hi-light the “homework helper”.
Complete lesson 4 in module 6.
READING:
First do “read to self” you should read one of your books or the school’s library book for 30 minutes – then go to the googleclassroom assignment for March 16 and type in a main event and a couple supporting details. Many of you have been keeping up – but there are 6 students who have fallen behind on this. This is your “reading journal” please do all assignments — this is the third entry in that assignment – some of you need to catch up.
Readtheory – remember you need 100 knowledge points by Friday so do read theory for a half hour.
SCIENCE:
Read the next two articles in Earth’s Atmosphere on Readworks and complete the “book of knowledge” for them. Remember 3-4 well written sentences.
Work on your constellation project.
I know you are really missing writing and language – but don’t you worry at all – it is coming next week. I just want to take things nice and slow this week until we all get used to things.
OK HERE IT IS… MY ADVISE TO YOU FOR THE DAY. DO YOU REMEMBER THAT YESTERDAY I WARNED YOU THAT YOU MAY START TO FEEL GRUMPY? I WAS RIGHT WASN’T I? DID YOU DO WHAT I SAID TO DO? WELL, TODAY AND TOMORROW IS YOUR PARENT’S TURN TO FEEL A LITTLE GRUMPY (DON’T WORRY IT IS NORMAL FOR THEM TOO). WHEN YOU NOTICE THEM LOOKING A LITTLE …LET’S SAY WORRIED, OR UPSET, OR STRESSED, OR “FED UP” THEN DON’T COMPLAIN OR ARGUE OR ASK FOR ANYTHING. ASK THEM IF YOU CAN HELP WITH ANYTHING AND THEN GO DO SOMETHING IN YOUR ROOM FOR A LITTLE BIT – MAYBE STRAIGHTEN UP YOUR DRAWERS OR DRAW A PICTURE. IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE FOR YOU TO CALL YOUR GRANDPARENT OR AN AUNT OR UNCLE AND ASK THEM HOW THEY ARE DOING AND TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM. IT WILL MAKE THEM HAPPY AND MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD INSIDE.
DON’T STAY UP ALL NIGHT – REMEMBER KIDS LOOK SUPER SCARY WITH BAGS UNDER THEIR EYES.
