Hello Families,
First I want to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving and break, I hope everyone gets to spend time with family and friends. This is my third year here at Howard and each year I am so, so grateful for the wonderful families and students I get to spend time with.
Today the students were extremely busy with science, social studies, and math. In the afternoon they students received their “awards celebration” (the entire class needs to be on task to earn a shell, when the jar is full we earn a celebration). Today the students were awarded with a movie and ice cream sundae.
The students do not have any homework over break, however I do hope they take time to read either by themselves or to someone else in the family. Readtheory is an option available all the time also.
We do have a student who left for Spain last week. I am going to attach a couple of assignments for him to do, everyone else can ignore the following.
If you are in Spain you need to do the following:
Math Lesson 23 and 24 – Learn, Succeed, and Zearn
Science – You missed a demonstration and note taking – we will explain when you return. Read pages E70-E77. Take notes of main ideas and answer #1-3 on page E77. Remember to restate, answer, explain, cite. Also, complete the attached assignment.
Social Studies – Read pages 124-127 – make sure you are familiar with the vocabulary and pictures. Complete the attached assignment. You will take the vocabulary quiz when you get back.
Good Luck in Spain!!
