September 19
Hello Families,
Please remember that tomorrow is an 11:45 dismissal for all elementary students. Students get to go home – teachers need to stay for meetings 🙁 !
Tomorrow will be our first “mid-module” assessment. We spent the entire morning going over what is to be expected. We did more whole group, partner work, and individual work with assistance. All the students were asked to take home their Learn, Succeed, and study guide to look over tonight if they need extra practice. By now you should have seen their “topic A and B” quiz ( a couple kids are bringing them home today – I needed to help them a little more). I do not need these returned but I do recommend that you hold on to them until report cards come out just in case we need to focus on certain areas.
DRAs are now finished and Monday we will begins a “normal” routine. A few of the students will have homework from reading today because they were working on the DRA writing part in class. If your family is busy tonight and your child would like the weekend to do their summary and questions then please email me to let me know – it will not be a problem.
For tomorrow please ask your child to:
- Look over the math study guide and practice some of the problems
- Complete the summary and questions for Esperanza Rising
- Study for the spelling test
