March 14th is Pi Day

Next Wednesday, March 14th, is a special Math day. It is Pi (3.1415…) Day

We will be learning about Pi and engaging ourselves in many Pi Day activities.

You may want to memorize these fun facts!!

  1. Pi is used to calculate the area and circumference of a circle
  2. Albert Einstein was born in Germany on March 14, 1879
  3. Ancient Greek Mathematician, Archimedes, was one of the first scholars to calculate pi
  4. Einstein wrote his first scientific paper when he was 16 years old
  5. The last digit of pi cannot be calculated
  6. Einstein received the Nobel Prize in 1921
  7. Pi has been calculated to 22 trillion digits so far
  8. Einstein’s brain was stolen after his death
  9. The number one (1) occurs in the first 100,000 digits of pi a total of 10, 137 times

You want to memorize as many digits in Pi as possible! If you get the farthest in your class, you get a really cool prize!!
