Bellwork gave students practice graphing a Sine function and writing the equation of a Sine graph.

Students were given a copy of the Review for Quiz #3.  The quiz will be given next week.  Exact day of the quiz is still to be determined.

Hwk #8 is due today.

The remainder of the period we began discussing Sec 13-7 – translations of Sine functions.  Students first worked on an Calculator Exploration of the graph of y=Sin(x-h)+k. to discover how different values of h and k affect the graph of y=Sinx.

Hwk #9 was made available to the students.

Practice Sheet:  Sec 13-7 (Sine only)

Due date is to be determined.

Hrs 1-3:

Bellwork reviewed finding the Period, Amplitude, and Eq of Midline for a periodic function, and gave students practice on some SAT like questions.

The remainder of the period students worked on an Exploration to discover how the values of a and b in the equation y =aSinbx affect the graph of the parent function y=Sinx.  We then began discussing how to graph by hand the equation y =aSinbx.
