The remainder of the period we finished our discussion on Sec 5-2.  Students were shown how to use the graphing calculator to find the coordinates of the vertex of a parabola (max/min).  We then began discussing Sec 5-4, Factoring.  This is a subject we’ve already been practicing most of this semester.

The remainder of the period we continued our discussion on Quadratics in Standard Form (Sec 5-2).  We discussed “real-life” situations modeled with quadratic equations and the Max/Min of that situation and when that value occurs.
