Bellwork reviewed the ideas of Line of Symmetry and coordinates of the Vertex of a Quadratic Function ( Sec 10-1, 2).

The remainder of the period we finished discussing Sec 10-2 and began discussing how to solve a quadratic equation by factoring, using a graph, and taking square roots (Sec 10-3).

Bellwork had students explore the graphs of quadratic equations (parabolas) to determine how changing the coefficient of the quadratic term affects the graph.

The remainder of the period we continued this discussion about the graphs of quadratic functions, their characteristics, and how the solutions to the equation 0=ax^2+bx+c relates to the graph.
