4th & 5th Hours:

These classes did not meet today, students went to Henry Ford Health Systems.

 

6th Hour:

No bellwork today, students took a quiz over Sections 5-2 and 5-3.

After the quiz students had a classwork sheet to begin.  This sheet asked students to write an equation (Function Rule) to model a statement or table of values.  This sheet is due tomorrow.

Bellwork reviewed questions for Friday’s Chapter 5 Test.

The remainder of the period we continued discussing Sec 5-5, Direct Variation.  Students also completed an experiment on Direct Variation involving the drop height and bounce height of a golf ball.

The remainder of the period students were shown how some of the information given in an Absolute Value graph can be applied to equations and graphs of Quadratic Functions.  We also began discussing the last section that we will cover in Chapter 5, Sec 5-5:  Direct Variation.

Bellwork reviewed whether a relation is a Function or not, Domain and Range of relations, and Function Notation (sec 5-2).

The remainder of the period we finished discussing Sec 5-2 by focusing on Function Notation.  We then began discussing Sec 5-3:  Graphs of Linear, Quadratic, and Absolut Value Functions.
