- Bell Work-1.) Based on your prior knowledge what ship is the United States supposed to represent in this political cartoon? 2.) What might the motives of the artist have been in drawing the major issues that emerged after WWI as icebergs? 3.) Based on the fact that the U.S. withdrawal from European affairs following WWI led to an unstable region in which Germany was able to rebuild itself.
