With Monday in the books here’s what we did today in World History:

  • Thinking Maps-Introducing Tree Maps-World Religions and Their Founders
  • Lecture-Chapter 6 Section 3-Origins of Christianity
  • Daily Objective-

o       Content Objective: Students will demonstrate synthesis of the ministry of Jesus Christ and the impact of Christianity on western culture by using guided notes and class discussions.

o       Language Objective: Students will complete guided notes to help demonstrate their understanding of the impact of Christianity on western culture. Following our lesion we will orally discuss the evolution of Christianity and the effects of western civilizations.

Happy Friday everyone!! During 5th and 6th hour today we had a blast at the 2013 FHS pep rally, getting our team ready for tonights showdown against Dearborn High.

Here’s what else we had going on today:
o Video-The Bible-Episode 7-The Mission (45min) w/ Video Questions
o Daily Objective-
o Content Objective: Students will demonstrate synthesis of the ministry of Jesus and the impact of Christianity on western culture by using guided video questions and class discussions.
o Language Objective: Students will complete guided video questions to help demonstrate their understanding of the impact of Christianity on western culture. Following our lesion we will orally discuss the evolution of Christianity and the effects of western civilizations.

*Special Note: Any time we talk to or show the students video about any of the major world religions we stress that we are not trying to persuade them to believe a certin way but as a diverse popluation it is important to know the history and background of other faiths. We strive to present the historical facts of each faith from the prespectives of that religion.

We want to encourage everyone to attend the Fordson V. Dearbnorn High game tonight at DHS. Game begins at 7:00 so get there early!

Today we had the wonderful oppertunity to tour Fordson’s amazing library. Our students were led through an online activity with our librarian Mrs. Harrison who showed us the Fordson blog and the online resources that our school offers.Following our tutorial Ms. Cantrell explained the history of our library and showed our students some of the unique features contained inside.

o       Content Objective: SWD analysis of the beliefs of the Greek philosophers by categorizing the thoughts and theories that shaped early academic thought through creating a thinking map

o       Language Objective: Students will record the beliefs of the three main Greek philosophers through an activity designed to categorize the major beliefs that influenced Greek thought through the use of a bubble map
