Homework lesson 8 and exit ticket (take a picture of the assignments and send to me on Google classroom or classdojo)

Reading:

Technology’s Impact on Society, pages 12-15 “Poems of the Industrial Age” from your benchmark book.

Read “The Secret of the Machines” and underline main ideas and circle key details that support the main ideas.

During independent time, students should write a few sentences answering the question “What is the ‘Secret of the Machines’?” Use key images and what they contribute to the poet’s message that machines add value to people’s lives. You can support your description with words from the poem. (write and take image of your writing and send to google classroom or classdojo)

Read for 30 minutes and record yourself reflecting on what you read on classdojo

Writing:

Many students owe me their Narrative and Opinion paper, so turn it in as soon as possible.

Compare and contrast a Red Wings soccer player and Detroit Pistons player. You may pick any to current players. Today I want you to draw a Venn Diagram and give 3 for each section of the Venn diagram which totals 9 facts. Take a picture of the Venn diagram.
