Abbass Karnib: “Hey did you hear that new Rock N’ Roll song?” Sonia Gomez: “Nah! that music is too loud it bursts my ears.” Abbass Karnib: “No…that’s Heavy Metal.” Sonia Gomez: “Whatever, same thing right?”

Sonia Gomez, attends Unis Middle School, does not know the difference between Rock N’ Roll and heavy metal. Sonia stated that she listens to Drake the most. She also mentioned that she has heard of a Rock N’ Roll band called Pink Floyd. “Heavy Metal bands I have listened to are Kiss and AC/DC,” Sonia mentioned. According to Rock N’ Roll, history Kiss and AC/DC were never a Heavy Metal band.

Abbass Karnib, who also attends Unis Middle School, does know the difference between Rock N’ Roll and heavy metal. Although, Abbass does not usually listen to a lot of Rock N’ Roll. But he mentioned he listens to Rock N’ Roll enough to know the difference. Abbass listens to Bon Jovi and Elvis Presley. Other genres of music he listens to are Rap and Hip Hop. Heavy Metal is not a type of music you would hear everyday.

Amanda Naeem, 8th grader at Unis Middle School, listens to all genres of music. “I like all kinds of music, but I don’t listen to metal,” stated Amanda. As a matter of fact, Heavy Metal is a genre of music that is listened to a lot around the world. However, not a favorite.

The genre nowaday that is listened to the most is pop. But Rock music shouldn’t be mixed up with any type of music. Like what Elvis Presley used to say, “Rock N’ Roll music, if you like it, if you feel it, you can’t help but move to it. That’s what happens to me. I can’t help it.”
