Imam EL Reza

Imam El Reza is the largest mosque standing today in the world. Muslims make a pilgrimage to this monument yearly. Imam El Reza was created in the year 1309.  Why do Muslims travel to the Imam El Reza? 

Imam El Reza is currently located in Mashad, Iran. It is one of many monuments that Muslims pilgrimage to today. Imam El Reza is a beautiful monument filled with faith and Persian splendor. 

Muslims pilgrimage there as it’s one of the five pillars of the Islamic culture. The five pillars are Faith, Prayer, Fasting, Almsgiving, and Pilgrimage. It is said in the Qur’an that every Muslim should practice and recite these pillars, as they are a part of their culture. 

The community cares about the imam’s safety since the five pillars are important to Muslim culture. Mrs.Ghada Zein states, “Security is very secure there and checks you very well to see if you have anything dangerous due to the big population.” Ghada Zein shows that the monument cares about the Imam’s safety due to large crowds and other problems. 

Muslims get granted martyrdom from Allah(SWT) by making pilgrimages to monuments. Mr.Adnan Mustapha states, “Imams have special burial boxes around the monument.” Adnan Mustapha displays how Muslims care about the Imams and how our community keeps the Imams secure. One of the Imams, Ali El Reda, is one of the eight imams in Muslim culture that we value today in the world. His remains are buried in the Imam El-Reza and are visited every day.

Muslims practice and recite many things in the Imam El Reza. They speak from the depths of their hearts to the Imams, showing how they feel and care about them. Muslims need to pay attention to the presence of the Imams. Focusing on the true meaning behind these Imams shows how much you care for them. Pilgrims perform many prayers throughout the day and night. 

By respecting the Imams, you should also know you should dress modestly. Mrs.Zakie Mustapha states, “If you don’t dress modestly, you have to give to charity and poverty.” Zakie Mustapha reveals that not dressing modestly can be disrespectful, and you would have to give back to charitable services to enter the Imam El-Reza. Remember who you’re addressing in the recites when you approach the Imams. Muslims have affection for their Imams, which is very important during your pilgrimage.

The Imam El-Reza is very interesting to know and understand as the Qur’an states it’s a national treasure. Mrs.Ghada Zein states, “The Imam El-Reza is a national treasure, as said in the Qur’an, by Muslims visiting many monuments like the Imam El-Reza.” Ghada Zein shows how monuments like Imam El-Reza can be seen as noteworthy, not just monuments. 

Many rare manuscripts, artifacts, Islamic art, and drawings surround the monument. Mrs.Zakie Mustapha states, “These symbols, drawings, etc., all come from our imams and Muslim culture.” Zakie Mustapha indicates that the Islamic art in the Imam El-Reza is very detailed and has many meanings from the Imams. You can find many symbolic meanings around the Imam El-Reza in these rare manuscripts. Drawings come from the Imams around the monument and have meanings behind them. 

Imam El-Reza’s monument is an important place for Muslims because the Imams are full of history, faith, and beautiful artwork. The rare manuscripts, drawings, and designs reflect the deep meaning behind the sacred site. Visiting is not just a trip but a way for Muslims to connect with their faith and history. It stands as a special place of worship and inspiration for everyone who visits.
