It was March 15th, 2000, when one of the managers of the Everglades restaurant, down in Orlando Florida, was caught in an accident. The manager, Mike Seif, claims he had to get 15 stitches to patch his hand up because of the incident, but the thing is, he did it to himself.
“It was a regular normal day. I was just managing the place like usual,” he said. Mr. Seif was trying to open a bottle of wine so he can simply just serve it to a customer, but then, something tragic happened. As he was trying to open the glass bottle, it cracked and spread out everywhere, including Seifs’ hand.
He didn’t think much of it, so continued to carry on his work. But then, out of nowhere blood starting to gush it and was all over the place, thus leading Mr. Seif into the emergency room. The doctors checked up on him, and apparently, some of the glass somehow hit somewhere deep in his thumb, and actually ripped one of his tendons in there (A tough mix of fibrous connected to all the bones with muscles on them).
This caused him to get some surgery done, and even some surprising hand therapy. But the surgery part wasn’t that easy. The surgeon couldn’t find out where the glass had gone, so he had to cut open a part of Seif’s wrist, and grab it from there.
But despite all that, it took a shocking 15 stitches to do. The handicap manager then was put on recovering for about 3 months before he could work again, but the company obviously still paid him. But despite all of these tragic events, all Mr. Seif had to say was this. “I don’t regret anything that happened. I’m glad it happened.”
That’s right. You read that right. This man DID say that he was GLAD that he got into this accident. Why you ask? Well, let’s go deeper into this.
When Mike was on his paid vacation for 3 months during the recovery time, he travelled to Windsor Canada with two of his older brothers. The next thing you know, he finds the love of his life, gets married and has 4 children in the next 19 years.
So basically, if it weren’t for this gory event, then Mike Seif would NOT have met his wife and have a family (because he originally planned NOT to get married in the first place), and you wouldn’t be reading this story either.
