The Death Penalty, according to https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/, ¨Capital punishment, also known as the death penalty, is a government sanctioned practice whereby a person is put to death by the state as a punishment for a crime.” In 2017, the total number of states that allowed the death penalty, is 32 states, according to www.statisticbrain.com Though, the question is, Should the Death Penalty be allowed in all 50 states?
The total number of executions in America, since 1978, until right now, is 1,392. The current number of death row inmates right now, is 3,035. These statistics are owned to www.statisticbrain.com. I asked a neighbor, Suliman Heindiya, if he thinks that the Death Penalty should be allowed, and he said, ¨ Of course not, this is by far one of the worst inventions on this free land.¨ The percent of counties in the U.S. that have not had one person executed in U.S. years, is 85%, According to www.statisticbrain.com.
The percent of people who support the death penalty, is 65%. This is according to www.statisticbrain.com. I asked one of my friends Daoud Dabaja if he supports, allowing the Death Penalty, and he said, ¨ Yes, I support the Death Penalty, because it will show the criminal that he should never do what he or she did, and that person should not ever go against there country.¨ This is a person who would like to allow the death penalty.
This is Daoud Dabaja (Eighth Grader)
The death penalty is in a very rare case. To be sentenced to death, you would have to make a big impact on people, or go around killing everyone. The number of people sentenced to death in 2017, is 23 people, according to www.statisticbrain.com. I asked an eighth grader at Unis, Ahmed Taleb, if he thinks that the crime rates would rise or drop, if the death penalty is allowed. He said, “I think that the crime rate would drop if the death penalty is allowed, because more criminals would realize if they make a horrific crime, they would be sentenced to death.”
Usually, many people would want to get away from crime. In today’s society, people want to be criminals, and want jail time. Overall, if the death penalty is allowed in all 50 states, I think that it would cause less crime convictions, and it would get rid of all horrific criminals. This is why the Death Penalty should be legal, in all 50 states.
