Kendall Jenner Pepsi Commercial

Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi Commercial first aired in June of 2017. Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial got lot of hate. Laila Salman a 8th grader at Unis Middle School, who is also a fan of Kendall Jenner was shown the video of Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial, was asked, “How do you think Kendall Jenner felt about her Pepsi Commercial before it aired?”

Laila answered by telling me “Kendall Jenner probably felt good like as if she was sending a message that she was against racism”.

Next, Ayah Faraj 8th grader at Unis Middle School who is a fan of the Kardashian-Jenner family was asked “How do you feel about Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial?”. Ayah replied by saying “I thought it was racist and disrespectful”, Manar Abouraya a 8th grader at Unis Middle School, was also asked the same question as Ayah Faraj also replied by “I feel like it did not show complete equality because of how Kendall decided to take off her wig and hand it to a woman that was black.”

However, I did decide to ask Laila Salman a fan of Kendall Jenner, Laila was asked “Why do you think there is so much hate with Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial”. Laila answered by saying “I do not know because when I watched the commercial I did not see anything wrong with it because Kendall was just showing in the commercial that you should be yourself and it is just a commercial so it is not a big deal.”

Later, I decided to ask all three girls another question and that was “Do you think Kendall Jenner knew all this hate was going to happen to her.” Manar answered by saying “ I think Kendall did not know this was going to happen and I’m sure if she did she would not have done the commercial because in the end Kendall there is a video of Kendall crying and apologizing.”

Ayah answered the question by saying “ Kendall did not know this was going to happen, but I think people hated on her so much because they want to and because they want a reason to hate on her.” Laila was also asked this question and responded by saying “Kendall probably thought people would like her more because she was sending a good message about being against racism.”

In conclusion still most people believe that Kendall Jenner’s Pepsi commercial was racist especially since the commercial was a commercial made by Pepsi for a Black Lives Matter movement . “Kendall Jenner has indeed apologized for this and so has Pepsi and Pepsi also apologized and Pepsi also apologized to Kendall Jenner for putting her in this position.” https://www.nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/pepsi-ad-kendall- jenner-echoes-black-lives-matter-sparks-anger-n742811
