School Electives are classes beside your core classes. These classes are supposed to be fun classes. Some elective classes are art, gym, computer apps, broadcasting, and keyboarding. Others electives include extra math and extra reading classes.

 Pamela Anderson, 8th grade US History teacher, stated,“ I have taught a Performing Arts class. I taught for one year then stopped. Its really fun. I think our school should get more electives. Our school had cut more than half of the electives the last couple of years.”

 There was a survey around Unis Middle School. Out of 100 surveys, there was only one no. The rest was yes, Unis Middle School should have more electives. There were 69 students that want cooking/sewing added to their electives, 26 students  wanted Health to be added to their electives,  35 students wanted workshop to be added to their electives. There were 42 students wanted robotics added to their electives, 58 students wanted an extra Language class to be added to their electives, and 39 students that wanted performing arts to be added to their electives.

Mohamed Dabaja, an 8th grader at Unis Middle school stated “We need more electives at Unis Middle School. They should add more because the last couple years they cut a lot of electives. He also added “We should add more electives such as wood chop, cooking, and Instrumental class.”

In conclusion, most of the Unis Middle School want more electives. For the past years, our school cut more than half of our electives. They did that because they didn’t have enough money to pay the teacher.
