Have you ever walked into a bathroom that looked like a hurricane just came threw it. Well if you haven’t, you are sure to see one. There have been a lot of bathrooms that were trashed in Unis Middle School. Some middle school students are taking advantage of their bathroom privileges. They don’t throw away tissues in the trash, leaving the sinks on, and not flushing which causes a really bad smell.

At  McUnis, some teachers have bathrooms in their classroom. Mr. Drinkert like the fact about bathrooms in class. Mr. Drinkert stated,’’ With bathrooms in classes, students are held accountable.” Also, when students use the bathroom in the hallways, students can distract other students from learning in the classrooms”.

It is one month into the school year and Mr. Blessing has already closed one of the boys bathrooms because how dirty they made it. If Mr. Blessing already locked down the bathrooms, what is he going to do later on in the school year. Jafer Beydoun, an 8th grader at Unis Middle School stated,’’ If students keep on trashing the bathrooms, Mr. blessing will close the upstairs and downstairs bathroom”.

The bathrooms in Unis Middle School are so bad, some students don’t even go inside the bathrooms. Abbas Karnib, an 8th grader at Unis Middle School stated, ‘’ I went inside the bathroom, came out in five seconds because the toilets were not flushed, toilet paper on the floor, and the smell was tremendously bad”. People who have asthma can stop breathing if the bathrooms are smelling really bad.

Unis is not the only school with trashed bathrooms, nor is only middle schools. Fordson High School is just as bad or even worse the Unis. Mohamad Bazzi, a sophomore at Fordson High School stated,’’ The bathrooms at Fordson are really bad, there are broken mirrors, tissues on the floor, toilets not flushed, and there is also graffiti on some of the walls. Also, students don’t use the bathrooms at Fordson because they are too bad.

Some students are very good students and clean up the bathrooms without being asked. Ali Saad, an 8th grader at Unis stated,” when I went into the bathroom and it was trashed, I flushed a few toilets and picked up some tissues of the floor”.If there were more students like Ali, maybe the bathrooms will not be trashed often.

It is a shame that some students only think of themselves. They do not think of the people who have to clean it up. If it was not for the Janitors and some students who clean the bathrooms, the bathrooms will never be clean. Mr. Disney is a custodian at Unis Middle School. Mr Disney stated, “ when students trash the bathrooms I feel that the students are being really disrespectful, especially, when we have to clean it up”.

Next time you see a bathrooms trashed, please try to pick up what is left of it. Also, think about the people who have to clean it up. And finally, when you see other people trashing the bathrooms, tell them to stop and you will leave that bathroom knowing that you have done a good thing.
