If you don’t remember your LEXILE level, look up your January NWEA READING score on StudentConnect (under testing) then look at the last page of the summer learning directions.

TUESDAY
If you have 2 HOURS or more of IXL ELA minutes from April 1, 2020 to today, you do not need to do any more IXL. You will have to figure out your own minutes on IXL.
On Tuesday, if you are NOT happy with your IXL grades on StudentConnect, please do at least one hour of IXL ELA 6th grade level or higher then email me to explain what you have done.
You will get SOME of the IXL points.
WEDNESDAY
At the end of this week, your Google Classroom grade will be added to StudentConnect. For example, if your Google Classroom grade is 93%, you will get 93 points on StudentConnect.
VERY IMPORTANT – if you do not finish your missing assignments on Google Classroom, those assignments will be changed to ZEROS at the end of the week, and your Google grade WILL DROP!
On Wednesday, please check that you have turned in EVERYTHING on Google Classroom.
THURSDAY
On Thursday (or before), please send me ALL FIVE PAGES of your composition book. If you have sent me some pages before, you still need to send me ALL FIVE PAGES together before the end of this week.
There is a composition book link at the very top of the iBlog. If you click this link, you will find directions for ALL FIVE PAGES.
FRIDAY
This extra credit is only for students who have turned in ALL assignments, and are still not happy with their final grades.
I have attached a picture of Amelia Earhart. Please take some time to study the picture, then search for information about her. Write a short, interesting biography about her life and why she is important (on Google docs). Send me your work.
I REPEAT – THIS EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE TURNED IN ALL OTHER ASSIGNMENTS!

On MONDAY, June 1st, 7th grade students should have their parents drive by the front side (Jonathon) of Lowrey School to pick up their locker bags.
You must stay in your car (truck or van etc.) – no students or parents will be allowed into the school building.
You should drive slowly by until you see your FIRST HOUR teacher. The teacher will hand you a bag that contains everything that was in your locker. Please be ready to tell the teacher your first hour class number.
The bag will have your name, your locker number and your first hour class number.

Please write a creative, interesting story to explain how our school got its name – Harvey H. Lowrey School.
You COULD look up some REAL facts online, but I don’t think you’ll find much.
I would love it if you LOOK carefully at the picture and then use your imagination and blend the fact and the fiction into one super interesting story. BE CREATIVE!
Your writing (in a notebook) should be a FULL page – skipping lines. If you are typing on Google docs, your writing should be a FULL page, font size 14.

OK so this is pretty simple. Please find a quiet place in your house (garage, basement, porch, attic wherever!) and carefully and slowly read Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 of “Holes” by Louis Sachar. Please set a timer and read for at least 20 minutes. Please read MORE chapters if you need to to get to 20 minutes. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO READ FOR LONGER THAN 20 MINUTES!
In your composition book, please write a short summary of Chapter 4 then write a short summary of Chapter 5.
Let’s be honest … you COULD easily cheat and just search Google for chapter summaries. I am actually OK with that AS LONG AS YOU ACTUALLY READ THE BOOK FIRST!
