Dear parents,
We know that these next few weeks are going to be very different for all of us. It is very important that during these weeks away we still continue to work on our goals and objectives and help our students maintain all the progress they have achieved so far this year. We realize that online learning every day may not be appropriate for our student population, however we will be posting some websites and YouTube video links that your students could watch or interact with throughout the next few weeks on ClassDojo. In addition, we spent the entire morning putting together a packet of work for your child to complete while we are away from school. In these packets you will find many reading activities to work in comprehension, sight word and letter work, writing, number identification, computation worksheets and other math and ela practice. In addition, there are two science chapter texts about light and sound and two social studies text about world war 2 and the war on terror. Please have your student read the chapters a few times, after they are familiar with the chapter they have comprehension questions to answer as well as a multiple choice quiz. Each chapter should take a few days to complete. Finally, Ms.Cook included a packet for gym so that your child still has some physical activity throughout the break. If you have any questions at all about these packets please don’t hesitate to message us on ClassDojo. These packets were sent in the mail Friday morning so you should be receiving them soon.
We also included a social story about the corona virus to read with your student to help them better understand what is going on.
We wish you and your family a safe and healthy few weeks. Again, please let us know if you have any questions. I am very easy to reach through my email which is bittarm@dearbornschools.org or ClassDojo.

Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal
School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”
If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools. Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years. Continue reading
