My name is Michelle Bittar and I am the new teacher taking over for Danielle Kortsjens. While this is my first year as a classroom teacher, I have been substitute teaching for the past five years with several long-term Special Education positions throughout the years. In fact, I completed my Special Education student teaching at Stout Middle School in Ms. Poloni’s classroom in the Winter of 2015.
I attended Wayne State University and received my Bachelor’s of Art degree in Design and Merchandising. Immediately after graduating, I attended Eastern Michigan University for my post-baccalaureate teaching certificate in Special Education Cognitive Impairment grades K-12 and Secondary English grades 6-12. I plan on continuing to pursue my Masters Degree in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University in the fall of 2017.
I am beyond excited to see familiar faces and meet the new incoming students this year. This year will be full of opportunities for the students to grow and achieve all they can through daily challenges and encouragements. I believe the sky is their limit and I am here to help them reach their fullest potential. Please feel free to contact me through my email bittarm@dearbornschools.org or call me at 313.827.4600 ext. I look forward for the year to come and to work together with you to create positive growth throughout the year!
