Distribution of Student Materials

Attention Stout Families, 

From Monday, June 1st through Friday, June 5th, from 10am to 3pm, students will be able to RECOVER any materials they have in the building (hall and gym locker) and RETURN any materials that are property of Stout (library or classroom books, textbooks such as social studies, etc) that they may have. You will NOT be returning chromebooks at this time. Please read the following information carefully as it pertains to your child. This will be conducted the same way as our Chromebook Distribution, as a drive through. However, the drive-through will take place in the Staff Parking Lot, at the far right if you were facing our building, where buses depart at the end of the day. The day that you can come pick up your materials depends on where your locker is. Parents must accompany their child and bring ID. Parents will be asked to pull into the Staff Parking Lot and follow the drive-through lane to the appropriate door, where materials will be handed to them through the passenger window. YOU MUST HAVE A PAPER WITH YOUR NAME ON IT AND LOCKER # WRITTEN ON IT TO SHOW THROUGH THE WINDOW TO STAFF WHEN YOU ARRIVE. Parents and students, PLEASE NOTE, if your items are not picked up by the end of the day on Friday, June 5th 2020, they will be donated to a local charity or disposed of.

New Final Assignments Posted on Google Classroom

Hello everyone! Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. I have posted two assignments under classwork. These are going to be last assignments before your final summative assignment for the year. I will post that next week. It’s going to be very simple, no worries. Please use this time again to catch up on any missing work.

To all the students who emailed me about the document you could not access, I have reuploaded it as a new assignment that you can access. Please complete this ASAP.

Check In and Missing Assignments

Hi everyone,

Check In:

Just a few more weeks! As we head into the last part of our school year, I wanted to check in and congratulate you all on making it through middle school! I am so proud of each and everyone of you. You really made my first year of teaching one to remember. Thank you all for the very beautiful and sometimes wild moments we shared. 

Missing Assignments:

If you want to pass my class you need to make sure you have completed MOST of the assignments posted since April 13. Go to student connect and check to see if you have any missing assignments. Use this time to complete any old work and ensure that you recieve passingcredit for the class. If you have lower than a 37% in the class you will not recieve credit for the cardmarking.

This is the grading scale I am following:

87.5% – 100%    A

62.5% – 87%      B

37.5% – 62%      C

0% – 37%      NO CREDIT

Week 5/4 – 5/8 Announcements

Good morning!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends!

Everyone should have received the new online learning schedule. I will not be holding any live sessions on iLearn. I will be recording videos and posting them onto the google classroom. All of your assignments will continue to be found there unless I decide to host a session on iLearn in the future.

This week we will be continuing our exploration on how questions can help us figure out the cause of climate change. Your journal question and a recorded lesson are posted. Another video will be posted on wednesday and that will be a small lesson on an online activity you will complete. There are also 2 IXL topics assigned.

My office hours are friday from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. I’m going to be online at this time and available for any one on one conversations or check ins. If you would like to talk to me about anything just email me and we can set up a meeting or phone call between those times.

Week 4/27 – 5/1 Announcements

Good morning,

As everyone knows, google meets have been cancelled and we will be making the move over to iLearn for our live sessions. This will potentially begin next week but for right now all work continues to be on the google classroom.

Grades have been updated so please check in and complete any assignments marked as missing.

This week, along with our journal and exit tickets, will be continuing our work with climate change with another flocabulary activity and you will also be answering some questions from the Whiz Kids website. All instructions are on google classroom.

Chromebook Distribution

Hello everyone,

Stout will be distributing chromebooks to students on Monday, April 27th, 2020 from 1pm-3pm at Stout Middle School.

Each student at Stout is eligible, that means, even if your brother or sister who also goes to Stout already got one, you may come back for another one.

New Online Learning Schedule

Hope everyone is holding up! For this next week, there are a few new things that are about to be rolled out.

First, Stout has organized a master schedule for all students starting tomorrow, Monday April 20 at 9:00 AM. I will attach the schedule here and it will also be shared through the Stout official blog.

Next, this schedule will tell you when your teachers will be conducting live sessions for your different classes. Please take note of the times and maybe start to create a personal schedule for yourself to keep track of the information. We will discuss this during our first session this Tuesday.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th Hour: I will be holding TWO Sessions on Tuesday. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. You only need to attend one. On Thursday we will have a live Q&A for our morning session.

6th Hour: Your meet will be on Thursday at 1:15PM and your Q&A will be Friday at 2:30PM.

ADVISORY: Your meet will be on Friday at 11:00AM. Please check the google classroom before then for any updates.

My office hours are Friday from 9:00AM – 11:00AM.

Welcome Back!

Good afternoon and welcome back!

Hope everyone had a restful and healthy break. This week we will be completing some activities about climate change. I have posted a journal, 2 assignments, and an exit ticket for the week.
