First graders have been learning about color. They have made an origami 8 page book to showcase all their efforts. They use bubble maps to brainstorm ideas and then create an artwork for each page. Below you can see them working on the bubble map for the color orange. We did a guided drawing on how to make a pumpkin look real, complete with a stem and vine. They also learned about evergreen trees for the color green and were introduced to a printmaking process.

The students glued one tree into their book and glued the other into a collaborative piece with their table. They worked together to add details. As you can see they enjoyed working with their friends and were very proud of their work.
