This year will mark our 23rd Kid’s Healthy Heart Challenge(formally Jump Rope for Heart) in a row. Packets will be sent home in the middle of November and the event will be help in early December during normal physical education classes. This event is a fund raiser for the American Heart Association but students do not have to raise money to participate. Mr.Tapp
Despite the weather the run was a huge success. All of the races were completed and the kids put forth their best effort and the results showed with some outstanding times. A team photo has been taken and will be going home soon with the runners. Special thanks to Mrs.Alabakoff and Ms.Little for all of your help on race day. Mr.Tapp
Today is the big day rain or shine. Some rain is expected for the race today but the race will go on as expected. Dress for the weather,see you at Ford field. Mr.Tapp
We are still looking for more runners from 4th and 5th grade at both DuVall and Long. Final day for permission slips is Wed. October 2nd. Mr.Tapp
I am looking forward to another great school year both at DuVall and Long. My schedule has me at DuVall on Tuesday,Thursday, Friday and at Long on Monday and Tuesday.
Upcoming events include the Bob Cipriano Run on October 11th (more info. to come) which means our 4th and 5th graders will be out on the track training over the next 6 weeks.
Each grade level will be focusing on the instep kick at appropriate grade level standards. Grades 4 and 5 will be training for the 13 minute timed run test while grades k-3 will concentrate on galloping.

Field Day was a huge success made possible by all of our wonderful parent volunteers and the PTO. Although the day was a little damp the kids had a great time at the park. From the Golf Ball Relay to the Sponge Relays our students were smiling and having a ton of fun. Thanks again to the parents,PTO, Mr.Attee, teachers, and the DuVall students for making Field Day fantastic.

Grades 3-5 will participate from 9:30-11. All parent volunteers should arrive around 9:10 to choose a station to run.
Grades K-2 will participate from 1:30-2:45. All parent volunteers should arrive around 1:10 to choose a station to run.

This year we will be putting our annual DuVall Field Day at Summer Stephens on Thursday June 6th. Permission slips will be going home in the next couple of weeks for this event so make sure to sign and send back to child’s teacher. This is the big week! This Saturday the 13th at noon we will run the 1.2 mile finish. All parents of runners should be looking for a letter with all the important information coming home Wed. or Thur. Both schools will wear the shirt provided by Running Fit on Saturday (Make sure to fill out emergency info. on back of race bib before attaching to shirt). Please try to arrive around 11:30 on race day(sometimes parking can be a challenge). Mr.Tapp
