“Road to Disney” at DuVall

During the month of October our students at DuVall walked/jogged 1,150 miles. We were able to travel the 414 miles to Orlando,Florida from Atlanta, Georgia and start heading home traveling as far north as Cincinnati, Ohio.In just two months DuVall has almost completed a round trip to Disney World and back to Dearborn. Great work!

Get Up, Get Out, Get Active

Dear Parents,

This year and every year we do our best to promote physical activity. We do such activities as Jump Rope for Heart, ACES, Field Day, Bowl for Life, Mini-Martian Marathon and now the Road to Disney all in an effort to get our students more active. Did you know that 60 minutes is the daily amount of physical activity your child should be getting as recommended by the government. When possible try to help your child incorporate some activity into their day such as walks or bike rides. The earlier we get our students to form good habits in regards to their health the more likely they are to see the importance and stay active for a lifetime.

Looking for some pictures of our students being active.

Dear Parents, I am making a display in the gym titled “Look who’s Active”. I would like to fill the board with pictures of our students being active. Those baseball card pictures they make for team sports are great. Your child does not have to participate on an organized team to get in this display. Any picture that shows them being active will do (jogging, rollerblading, playing catch,ect.).
