As of Tuesday March 6th our team has grown to over 60 runners. If still interested please sign up by the end of the night on March 11th for the discounted 15$ price. I will give each runner that needs a log book one this Thursday. Each runner needs to get started at home training to make the final 1.2 miles as easy as possible on Saturday April 14th. I know that it seems way out (March 1st) to register for the Mini Martian race on Saturday April 14th but any student planning on going need plenty of time to accumulate the 25 miles in advance of the race. Consider being part of the team it is a fun and rewarding day for all involved.

Mini-Martian Marathon information letter coming home soon. If your child is registered by March 1st the price is $15. Your child will receive a t-shirt, inflatable alien, and medal when completing the race on “Race Day”.
Final Update- Both DuVall and Long school raised over $2,000 to donate to The American Heart Association. Both schools out performed our goals by over $500. Because of our hard work we will receive a $200 gift card to US games to buy gym equipment. Great work!
Due to the snow day last week I was forced to move part of the event to this Thursday the 21st. Because of the move I was unable to make an order for the prizes until I finish this week. The prizes take 2-4 weeks for delivery so I am looking at the end of January to pass out all prizes.

JRFH will take place all next week in your child’s physical education class. I will provide a water or gatorade for each student during our intermission. There is still 9 more days to fund raise for this event.Thanks for considering. Mr.Tapp
Both DuVall and Long will be participating in JRFH the week of Dec. 11th-15th. All fund raising needs to be turned in no later than the 15th.
This event allows our students to perform a community service and learn the importance of helping others. All donations go to the American Heart Association which use the funding for research and education.

This event is a great way to promote community service, learn about heart heath, and reward our kids for hard work. Congratulations to all the participants that showed up in the rain to run in this year’s event. All of our students put forth great effort to meet the challenges of both the course and weather conditions. I will post the website to go to check the results from the race soon. Long Elementary will take team photo on Wednesday the 25th and DuVall on Friday the 27th.
A special thanks to Mrs. Williams-Jakubus, Mr. Attee, Ms. Little, and Ms.Kerby for their help and support during the event. Thanks to all of our parents for getting your child to the race and braving the weather.
