Happy New Year!

Good afternoon,

Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their winter break and feel rested and refreshed! I have decided since we had a short and very busy week before break that I would not count our spelling test that we took on Thursday, December 22nd; so all students get a free pass 🙂 The words were challenging and we had less time to practice them and had many students absent. We are starting fresh this week with new words. This Week January 9 – 13:

  • December reading logs and winter break packets were due today, along with weekly writing and book bags from before break.
  • This week in math we will complete module 2 lessons 20-24.
  • Popcorn day is this Friday. Bring $1 for a bag of popcorn!
  • Happy January birthdays to Mia M (13th), Isabella (22nd), and Celia Y (28th)!!!
  • Please read the important update from Mrs. Fournier below:
  • Pick-Up Procedures: When picking up students we ask that you stay in or near your vehicles until your children are dismissed. Once children are dismissed, you can help them cross to your vehicles, but it is important to return to your cars quickly and safely exit the parking lot. Please do not leave your vehicles parked in the pick-up line. Doing this makes it difficult for traffic to flow and creates dangerous situations when trying to get around them. If you need to sign out a preschool student, please use a parking spot or remain in your vehicle until you can safely park to sign them out. Please be sure to leave a lane open for our preschool parents to get into the parking spaces. Leaving unattended vehicles in the driveway creates many issues with traffic flow in our parking lot and on Ann Arbor Trail. A typical dismissal takes between 5-10 minutes, please be patient and considerate of those around you as safety must always be the priority.
  • Recess: Our children have outdoor recess daily as long as the temperature (with wind chill) is at least 20 degrees or warmer and it is not raining. Please make sure your child is prepared to be outside for 20-30 minutes. Hats, gloves, and warm coats help to keep them warm and safe outside. If we get snow, students will also need to have boots and snow pants to keep their feet and legs dry.
  • Extended Day Interventions will begin next week for students in the Montessori Program. These programs are by invitation only based on academic performance and teacher recommendation. Letters will be sent out this week for students who have been recommended.
  • Important January Dates:
  • Friday, January 13- Popcorn Day!
  • Monday, January 16- NO SCHOOL- MLK Day
  • Friday, January 20- Half Day of School ( Special Ed Dismissal 11:30 and Montessori Dismissal 12:05)
  • Monday, January 23- Half Day of School ( Special Ed Dismissal 11:30 and Montessori Dismissal 12:05)
  • Tuesday, January 24- Montessori Application Window for 2023-2024 will open for new students and new siblings. Applications will be on the website or available in the office.

Have a great week!!

Happy Winter Break!

Whoo hoo winter break came early this year. Enjoy your snow day off tomorrow!

Students have a fun winter break packet to complete that is in their folder today. Remember to read everyday too!

I just want to say thank you to everyone for all of my goodies. I appreciate you all! I hope all of you stay warm and safe and have a wonderful break. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! See you January 9th!!

Just a few reminders:

  • Tomorrow is pajama day! Students can wear school appropriate pajamas, shoes (no slippers), and bring a small stuffed animal.
  • The sing along is tomorrow morning at 9:30. I will send out the zoom link separately if you’d like to watch.
  • I’ve decided to give the spelling test tomorrow just in case there is no school on Friday. So please study tonight!

Sing Along rescheduled

As you all are probably aware, there is some significant weather predicted for this Friday.  At this time, it is uncertain if we will get heavy snow or if we will just get rain. Our students and teachers have worked very hard to prepare for the sing-a-long and we don’t want to risk us not being here to enjoy it.  For these reasons, we are going to reschedule the Sing-A-Long for this Thursday, December 22 at 9:30 a.m. This does not affect pajama day on Thursday. All spirit wear days will remain unchanged.

Happy Monday!

Hi everyone,

Can you believe it is almost the end of the year?! Looks like it will be a busy week, December 19 – 23:

  • Tomorrow students may bring in a board game from home to play throughout the week when we have some extra time.
