REMINDER: BELLWORK TEST: TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2019

Students: Remember per our class discussion that we will be having a bellwork test on Tuesday, December 17, 2019.

Make sure that you bring your own notebook to class that day, since no passes or using others’ notebook will be permitted.

The classroom teacher highly recommends that you cross-check your notebook with other classmates in your own section to make sure that you’re all set for this coming Tuesday, since you will be allowed to use your notebook on this particular type of test to determine how well on-task you have been since October 14 through December 13, 2019.

The test format will be just like the previous one we had a couple of months ago!

REMINDER: UNIT 8.1 TEST: WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2019

As a reminder for this coming Wednesday, you need to review your study guide handout as well as go over the summary table for the unit to refresh your memory on the key concepts and ideas that we have discussed and reinforced in class throughout the past couple of months.

Remember that you will not be asked to define vocabulary directly, but you will be expected to know them so that you can apply them in various situations on the test, as you will read and analyze data and various informational topics, based on the ideas that you have learned in class thus far.

Note that the features of the organism bed bug were simply used as a matter of conveniency to facilitate the scientific learning process, since it could have been any other organism to learn these ideas and concepts!

Attention all students: Make sure that bring with you to class your article on Natural Selection from last week (No copy replacement will be given out), since we will be working on Box 3 of the Close and Critical Reading strategy. Monday, November 25, 2019: A Summative Evaluation

Students: Since we are done with the new material in Unit 8.1, Lesson 4, we will be having a short summative evaluation, based on what we have learned, in general. Your evaluation will be basically to analyze data of different animal groups through various temperature ranges that have been influenced by climate change over time. In other words, you will examine the data on a graph on the evaluation and then analyze it by answering a set of four (4) questions.

As far as studying for this evaluation, I simply recommend that you read over your Summary Table for Lesson 4 that was completed in class on Friday.

Yes, First Hour did not complete Box D in the Summary Table, but if you review the article we did in class on Friday on whether bed bugs can adapt to heat treatment, you will be fine!
