Monday: PosterBoard/Quiz on Meiosis

On Monday, based on students’ prior knowledge, 1st hour and 6th hour will review cell division and will be expected to draw, label, and explain the stages of meiosis, and 4th hour will be quizzed on the characteristics of cell division of meiosis in relation to mitosis.

Review: Meiosis

We will answer and correct our study guide on the cellular division process known as meiosis as well as examine the figures for the several stages of meiosis I & II. If time remains, we will do a comparative, characteristical analysis between the mitotic and meiotic processes.

Homework: Balancing Chemical Equations!

Students are to continue balancing the remaining chemical equations that were assigned today in class on their handout. If you still find difficulty balancing these equations, I suggest that you read Section 9.1 for steps for balancing chemical reactions/equations. Tomorrow, students will be called upon to come up to the Promethean board and share with the class their comprehension skills on balancing these equations.

Section 9.1: Balancing Chemical Equations

For those who are still have not mastered the naming and writing chemical formulas, I suggest that you go online, google several worksheet examples, and practice further since these should have been mastered during the first semester as we have reviewed them for the past two days in class as well.

As we embark upon Chemistry 2, we will elaborate and practice upon the law of conservation of matter in terms of balancing chemical reactions into chemical equations. We will do several of them on the Promethean board as several students will participate in such a feat.

Section 8.3, Meiosis: Reinforcement

Students are to study their class notes from our class discussion as we will reinforce the cellular division process known as meiosis tomorrow through a question and answer session. Remember always to bring your materilas to class everyday.

Section 8.3, Cell Division: Meiosis

We will reinforce our cellular division process of meiosis as we will elaborate upon it and compare it to our cellular division process of mitosis. We will examine the products of each nuclear division process as well as their genetic material in terms of their similarities and differences.

Review: Ionic & Molecular Compounds

Students need to complete their review sheets on writing formulas and naming ionic compounds if they still feel the need to practice. Tomorrow we will do more as we will reinforce the writing formulas and naming molecular compounds as practice.
