Molina HOPE Coat Drive Update/pre-registration nearing capa

“Greetings-

I wanted to share this opportunity to assist DPS students in receiving a free coat from Molina Health Care. The email below and attached flyer have all the information on how to pre-register for a coat. Hopefully, this will help those in need of a warm apparel for the winter. Please share.

Thank you for your partnership for the 2017 Molina HOPE Coat Drive. I am pleased to report that your outreach is working, and our pre-registration numbers are rising quickly. That being said, I wanted to gently remind you to please encourage your participants to register ASAP to guarantee a coat. While we will do our best to keep registration open until November 13th as previously communicated, if we reach capacity we will need to close it. At that point, all remaining people will be given coats on a first come/first serve basis on December 2nd at Second Ebenezer Church and coats cannot be guaranteed.

Again, people can register at www.molinahealthcare.com/HOPE. If they do not have computer access, they may call 248.729.4923 and their request will be addressed as quickly as possible.”

TEST: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2017: MATTER AND CHANGE

Students will be evaluated upon our study of matter in terms of its physical and chemical properties, as well as its physical and chemical changes. This will encompass our study of the concepts and/or ideas about the behavior of matter, as well as the properties of acids, bases, and pH/pOH. Furthermore, students will be assessed upon their learning skills of balancing chemical reactions into chemical equations, as well as identifying the type of each reaction.

What to study? What to study? What to study?

1) Students are very highly recommended to study their classroom notes that also include  our class demonstrations and homework assignments.

2) Students are to study the key concepts and ideas on pages 200-223 in our online General Science textbook that were selectively reinforced by our class demonstrations.

3) Students are to study the end of each section review, because there are a series of reinforcement review questions to help them determine how well they understand the ideas and concepts in each section. Go over ALL of those that were assigned as a review.

4) Students are to check the iblog for any previous and pertinent attachments that are related to our recent work on matter, since the classroom teacher has informed the students that they are responsible for any posting and to stay up-to-date on the iblog postings.

5) See attachment below:

TEST RETAKE MONDAY, OCT. 02, 2017: SCIENTIFIC METHOD

Students will be evaluated upon the various concepts and/or ideas that we have learned about the scientific method. On Monday, students who have continued to be on-task have had an opportunity to review the many concepts that are based upon the scientific method, while those that dilly-dallied have to work on them at home and study them.

The list includes objective, observation, hypothesis, procedure, data, quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis, conclusion, inference, model, theory, law, independent variable (experimental variable), dependent variable, controlled variable (constant variable), peer review, mass, volume, density, and triple beam balance among others.
