Week Eight: Cell Structures & Functions
Students will learn about the structures and functions of the cell organelles and be able to compare and contrast an animal cell with a plant cell. Furthermore, they will distinguish between eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
Week Five: Biochemistry
Students will examine and learn about carbon compounds, and how these compounds are an integral part of the molecules of life.
Week Four: Cellular Observation
Students will use the light compound microscope to observe different types of cells along with other non-living cells or structures.
Week Three: Microscopic Study
Students will learn and use the light compound microscope as it pertains to cells and microorganisms and the importance of this valuable tool in our daily lives.
Week Two: Scientific Method (Cont’d)
Students will explore the scientific method by determining which brand of paper towel is the best to use in their daily lives.
Week One: Explore & Inquiry
All biology and chemistry students will start the school year by inquiring and exploring the world around us through the use and the application of the scientific method.
